Find out how you can build your own DIY homemade greenhouse that's inexpensive, easy, and fun to make. Here's how.

Materials Needed For Your Homemade Greenhouse:

  • Shade Cloth
  • 4 Corner Brackets
  • 4 Planks
  • 8 Iron Bars
  • 4 Hula hoops
  • Cable Ties
  • Hose pipe
  • Your choice of potted plants
  • 2 Pieces of Conduit

Tools:

  • Hand Gardening Tools
  • Mallet
  • Hack Saw
  • Cordless drill/driver

Here's How To Build Your Homemade Greenhouse:

Step 1. Build A Raised Bed Garden

First, make a raised bed or a plant box from the planks. Assemble the planks to form a box then drill holes in the corners for your brackets and screws to connect the planks. Drive the iron bars as stakes in the ground with a mallet on all corners of the box.

Step 2. Transfer Your Potted Plant

Fill your raised bed garden with soil or compost then transfer your choice of plants in the plant bed carefully.

Step 3. Build The Greenhouse Frame

Detach your hula hoops from its connector piece and insert either end to the iron bars to make your frame.

Step 4. Attach The Shadecloth

Now, cut out semi-circles measured to fit the sides of the hula hoop frame, then close it using the cable ties. Lay one piece of conduit across the hula hoops above the frame. Then, cut another piece of the shade cloth for the roof and lay it over the frame.

Step 5. Apply Some Finishing Touches

Next, cut out little pieces of the hose pipe to about 6 inches long and slice them down the middle. Using as clamps, close the sides of the greenhouse with the cut hose pipe. Lastly, using the other piece of conduit, lay it across the bottom of the shade cloth, roll, then tie with the cable ties to make the rolling sides.
